PM Interview Coach

PM Interview Coach is the interview practice of PM Career Desk. It works inside Claude as a connector. You can practise for an interview with questions from your own resume, check the structure of your answers and take the PM Archetype test, in your own Claude chat. No account is needed.

What the connector does

The connector gives Claude a set of read-only tools. Each tool applies fixed rules written by the PM Career Desk team to the text you give it and returns the result. No AI model runs on our side.

Claude, in your own chat, decides when to call a tool, reads the result and talks it through with you. The tools never send email, never apply for a job and never change anything in any account.

The tools

  • Prepare interview questions from a resume (prepare_interview_questions). Reads your resume text and, if you give one, a job posting. Returns the resume lines a hiring manager is likely to ask about, each with a question that quotes your own line and the points a strong answer covers; the requirements of the posting matched to your resume, with the gaps as questions; and behavioral questions for the role.
  • Check the structure of an interview answer (check_interview_answer). Checks one practice answer: a situation, your own action, a result, a before and after figure or a named record, length, filler and hedging words, and the balance of we and I. It does not judge whether the story is true.
  • Get the PM Archetype test (get_pm_archetype_test). Returns the ten questions of the PM Archetype test. For reflection, not a psychometric or hiring assessment.
  • Score the PM Archetype test (score_pm_archetype). Scores your ten answers and returns your archetype, its strengths, a likely blind spot and one resume fix.
  • Check a resume line (check_resume_line). Checks one resume bullet and returns one finding and one question a hiring manager may ask about it.
  • Get the PM title fit questions (get_pm_title_fit_questions). Returns nine questions that compare project manager, program manager and technical program manager for your current work.
  • Match a PM title (match_pm_title). Scores the nine answers and returns the closest title, with what hiring managers usually look for under it.

What you can ask

  • "Help me prepare for a program manager interview. Here is my resume and the job posting."
  • "Here is my answer to the first question. Check its structure."
  • "I want to take the PM Archetype test."

What is sent and what is kept

When Claude calls a tool, it sends the text that tool needs: your resume text, a job posting, a practice answer or your test answers. Contact details are removed before the rules read the text. The connector does not read your other chats, your files or Claude's memory.

We do not store the text you send through the connector. We count which tool was used.

Your conversation with Claude is governed by Anthropic's terms and privacy policy.

Who you are talking to

"I'm Reed, an AI career analyst for PM Career Desk. I am software, not a person."

Tool results are signed Reed (AI), PM Career Desk. Reed is software, not a person, and no person reads what you send through the connector.

Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, writes the conversation in your chat. PM Career Desk is not made or endorsed by Anthropic. You decide what to say in an interview.

Limits

  • English text only.
  • Resume up to 30,000 characters, job posting up to 15,000, one answer up to 6,000.
  • The interview question set is a first version. For some large US employers it adds questions built from the principles and hiring pages the company publishes, with links to those pages; they are our questions, not the company's.
  • The rules can miss things. You decide what to change and what to say.
