Check a referral ask or a message to a hiring manager before you send it
Pick the kind of message, paste it, and the job posting if you have it. Fixed rules check the length for the channel, one clear request, why you are writing to this person, a line with a result, an attachment, pressure and template fields left in. You write and send the message yourself.
Which messages
- Asking a former colleague or someone you know for a referral.
- A message to a hiring manager.
- A note with a LinkedIn connection request.
- A follow-up after a meeting or an event.
What it checks
- Length for the channel: a LinkedIn note has room for 200 characters, a first email reads best short.
- One clear request that is small enough to say yes to.
- Why you are writing to this person: a shared past, an event, their post or what their team needs.
- One line with a result of your work.
- No attachment and no pressure or deadline in a first message.
- A clear next step, the tone, and template fields such as [Name] left in.
What you get
Each point quotes the part of your message it is about, says why it matters and shows one example line. The example is the same for everyone: your message is not rewritten, and you decide what to change.
Your text
Nothing you paste is stored. Phone numbers and emails are removed before the check.
Limits
- It reads English text only.
- It does not know the person you are writing to or whether the role is right for you.
- It does not send anything: you send the message yourself.
